What size sump??

I am setting up a 125 drilled with dual corner overflows. I'm planning on using a via aqua 8000 as a return pump and would like to build a sump so I can eliminate the old megaflow model 4 wet dry I have.

If you have a 125 what size sump do you use?

If you dont have a 125 what would you recommend for a sump?

Honestly, If I am building from scratch, I would build the biggest sump I could fit under my stand. I got my setup used but the 220 I have going up, I have a custom used 83 gallon sump that is 48"X20"X20". At a minimum you need it to be able to hold the water that will siphon down if you have a power outage.

I have a 55b on my 120. Make sure to build your baffles the correct height in order to accommodate the eventual power loss.

Agreed... I try to at least go 75 percent of the display size... Bigger the better...;)

i have a 38 gal on a 75. bigger is always better for sumps.

ALong with what everybody else has said, as big as you can. This will allow you to increase total water volume as well as accommodate more equipment such as skimmer, reactors etc.
