My monti cap a friend gave me seems to be falling apart from the inside out. Can someone tell me what may be going on? I’ve had it for around a month or so with no growth.

Does it have any color? Is this the back side of it?

Okay your numbers look good. How old is the tank?

SPS, in general may take time to acclimate to new systems. Once a coral is placed, it may take time for to encrust.

Keep your water parameters consistent and be patient. As long as it keeps its color, he will eventually start to encrust.

I originally stated I had it a month. But, thinking about it, I’ve had the monti for about 2 months maybe three.

Mine started out as a quarter size frag back in 2015. It took 6 months to start to encrust. Once it did, it took off.
