I ordered an Innovative Marine 25 gallon EXT Lagoon tank and arrived with a couple cracks just behind the overflow box. I was given a replacement with no charge and the second one arrived with no problems and now I have two of these tanks. I was going to use this 25 lagoon as a frag system plumbed with a 75gallon and 30gallon sump. Any ideas to repurpose this cracked tank or try to fix it with anything?

The cracks on the back panel glass behind the black material that’s in the tank. I can’t imagine too much pressure hitting the top of this panel. Could I seal everything off and add a different overflow to it? Just use as a quarantine system? Sell it? Appreciate any ideas, thank you.

Send it to me! Kidding. But you could probably seal the cracks in the tank with some silicone. And I would add a brace for integrity. And you could just chop off the overflow. Measure all the dimensions and just rebuild it yourself. May not be show tank quality but you could always have 2 or 3 frag tanks. Also a display fudge would be cool.

Thanks for the ideas, I think i'll fill it up with water and let it sit for awhile and see if any leaks happen. Its a nice looking aquarium, but I know Innovative marine can't recommend using it as an aquarium for safety reasons. Maybe a reptile owner could use it?

I would be worried that those fissures aren't done cracking. When you add water, despite the added support from the acrylic rear wall, it's going to put pressure on the rear glass panel, the cracks will grow to the edge of the glass and blow out sooner rather than later.
