HEY REEF2REEF COMMUNITY
WE GOT THE REEF!
Maybe you have noticed we have not been as active on Reef2Reef over the last several weeks. Sherry and I wanted to reach out and give you an update, and reassure everyone that we are here and strongly committed to both our customers and quality of our product.
OUR INVESTMENT IN OUR BUSINESS AND YOUR REEF!
Months ago we teased about coming changes. Once again I underestimated just how long a project might take. LOL, apparently it takes longer for me to build when it means TWO FULL TIME JOBS!! Sub-contractor delays, and weekly if not daily design, scope and additions discovered in process (like maybe we needed a high volume exhaust system to handle the humidity, yeah I didn’t think that through) has extended this project immensely. From our original plan to just relocate our current production to a centralized and combined location, we realized now was the time to make any enhancements and expand to utilize the new area to it’s fullest potential. We are PSYCHED that we are nearing completion on our renovation and upgrade. This week I will be building the stands for our new invert systems which will triple our capacity, allowing us to broaden our selection. Our phytoplankton and macro algae production is also gaining a complete overhaul with expanded production and biosecurity capabilities. Lastly we are expanding our pod cultures to nearly 4x our current capacity.
We have been burning the candle at both ends and in the middle to make this a reality. @Ocean_Queenie has jumped in with both feet, stocking bottles, harvesting phytoplankton, acclimating our new CUC arrivals and placing them in our systems, and many other projects to help ease the strain and give me a few more hours a week for construction which is amazing. Between moving my mother, storing many items of hers, and all the new equipment, the mess in our expansion area has quite frankly been too embarrassing to post photos. We have now reached a phase where we feel comfortable showing off the updates and will be sharing them as time allows.
This remodel has forced us to make tough choices and sacrifices along the way. My reduction in promotions and Reef2Reef posts have been driven by two factors. Number one and most important is honestly needing to reduce the number of orders to shorten the time we had to invest in packaging and shipping to allow more time for construction. The second factor is again honestly, I haven’t had the time to produce ads for new promotions or to sit and bump threads as I have started working between 5:30-6:30 every morning we are not shipping and quitting sometimes after midnight. Our business model relies on high volume to support our lower pricing, and we feel confident that we have reached the stage to allow us to fulfill all orders placed. Take a look today and let us help you meet your reef’s needs.
We are truly grateful for our subscription and faithful customers, along with many first time purchasers that have provided what volume we have done. Yesterday I updated our inventories with the exception of a couple new items like the Lettuce Nudibranch which will get added today, hopefully with photos but at least available to purchase.
