Do you have anything to say about the videos and the points I made in regards to observations and experiences?
Why? I've seen them all and opinions are not facts.
Everyones experiences are limited by a small set of circumstances unless they tested 100's of types of light over dozens of years.

I believe many grew corals just fine w/ 4000k HPS's.. Would you do that today?

Each is different w/it's own strengths and weakness .. None is "superior" over a wide range of needs/wants.
It really is that simple..

So blue and violet is better for corals?
Personally, I run full spectrum light (produced by LEDs) for about 4 hours midday and then bluer light to showcase fluorescence during viewing hours.

I start the day on blue and violet for an hour then the whites come on for 8 hours finnish the day with an hour of blue.

As long as your PAR values are at least 150 or so at the bottom of the tank you should be OK.
