My blue throat fairy wrasse has had a white shine in his eyes at certain angles since I purchased him a few weeks ago; however, nothing ever came of it, and he has been acting completely fine. Today I noticed a small white patch on the upper edge of his left eye that I don’t believe was there before. Again, he is acting completely normal and eating fine, but I’m worried that this might be an indication of flukes or some other problem. I’ve never ran into something like this before, so I’m hoping you all can give me some insight based on the pictures and video below.

Thank you!

Unfortunately this is a retina issue which may be permanent. As a gamble , you can try using maracyn/maracyn 1 (same) for a 5 day treatment but may not change the current status, Wish it was flukes but its not

I’ve uploaded some white light photos and attempted to upload a video. I’m not sure if the video is working though. Can’t play it in the thread on my end.

Edit: I’ve uploaded the video to YouTube and linked it in my original post. Unfortunately the quality didn’t turn out so good :(

Interesting. Do you think this could develop into a real problem? Right now he seems to be doing great. He eats aggressively and is very reactive to things going on outside the tank. Honestly, if it’s a simple cosmetic issue I don’t mind much, but if it is having a real impact on the fish’s health then I’ll want to take some course of action.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
