It never ceases to amaze me. I put nori in my tank and every fish I have goes nuts. Here’s a list of the fish I have that eat it...

Yellow tang
Tomini tang
Clarkii clowns
Six line Wrasse
Naoko Wrasse
Firefish
Sunrise dottyback
Cherub angel
Chromis
Damsels

The only fish I have that doesn’t eat it is my Watchman Goby and I think it’s only because he is usually in his hole and fails to realize it’s there. Most of the time people think of nori as food just for tangs. But again, most of our fish are omnivores. They eat nori too!

So what fish in your tanks eats nori other than the vegetarians?

Yep....of course my two tangs (Tomini and Purple), but also a flameback angel and melanurus wrasse are at the algae clip stuffing their faces.

In the current lineup I have a Scott’s Fairy Wrasse that eats it which surprised me. Also a Black Tang which isn’t a suprise.
I’ve had Rabbitfish in the past that also ate Nori.

I'm sure more of my fish would eat it, but with eight tangs, five angels and a few butterfly crowded around the clip there's really very little room left for anyone else. Though the cleaner wrasse does manage to squeeze in occasionally.

Kole tang obviously, but my red-lined wrasee (Halichoeres biocellatus) will eat some too. Seems like Halichoeres wrasses in general will eat just about anything.

The first two to my nori clip are my Gold Rim tang and my Potter's leopard wrasse. All of my wrasses eat it voraciously. The only fish I have that don't eat it are my Black Cap Basslet and my Barnacle Blenny but they will eat some if it happens to float by.

Holy cow! Don't they fight over it? I have to have nori on a clip on one side the tank and banded to a rock on the other side or my fish fight over it. And you have far more nori eaters than I do. Love the video, btw. :-)

What brands of nori are you guys using? My two tangs eat it, and sometimes my Eibli angel, but my clowns and damsels don’t touch it.

Yeah, I used to do that. Then I just decided to make them work for their meals.
