Is this a bad sign, because if it is, I would like some information as to why this is.

wow that is weird. I've seen dark green but not green like that before.

Did you add anything to the tank recently? Supplements, epoxy, foods, etc?

I dosed with Kent essential reef elements. I just read that I may have extra algae I feed my emerald Crab. It's probably just filtering through my skimmer.:cool:

You know, I just looked at the color of the Kent essential elements. It's green too. Lol! Thanks for the help. :D

Lol yeah. Maybe I'll turn down the flow to see if I can get dryer skimmate.

Yeah looks like skimming too wet. My old seaclone skimmer had that color skim. Had to skim very wet to get any skim with seaclone. Like said in previous post turn down skimmer.

I'd stop dosing the essential elements. Useless product IMO. Your slimmer is probably removing most of it from the water.

Kent Essential Elements is the only additive I've experienced that will turn skimmate green. Been that ways for decades. LoL Interesting color, huh?

Yeah. Just one question. Do I add it to my new saltwater mix or can I actually add it to my display tank after my weekly water change?

either way as it gets in your water. but with a good reef salt, you don't really need to dose trace elements.

btw, your tank may not be getting very much from you're dosing essential elements because your skimmer may just be pulling it out as quickly as you dose it in.
