A couple of terrible cell phone pictures. I live on the extreme north edge of the pronghorn’s range. We haven’t had many around lately due to some extremely nasty winters. It’s nice to see them in the neighborhood again, that means the herd is recovering.

The ringneck is a bit north of its natural range. This bird will be a released rooster, our community has had a small release program for the last few years.

Some images I have captured at work recently. A blue gray gnatcatcher and a red diamond rattlesnake

Not so sure about the rattlesnake! But love the Gnatcatcher. That's a great catch. People may not realize they are a bit larger than a Hummingbird and never sit still.

Shenandoah National Park is about 90 minutes drive for me. So I consider that close to home. Pretty quiet from a people standpoint at the moment but the lodges just reopened. Was up there this week in search of Warblers but there were lots of fawns as well. 20200610_Shenandoah National Park_050441_0828-Luminar.jpg

Thats for sure. Always hopping. I was on the hunt for Coastal CA Gnatcatcher but was unsuccessful. Its more rewarding catching them in frame when they are always in motion. It would be a hard life being that small.

They eat hostas.....great. It's bad enough they nibble my apple trees.

yes they do! the rabbits ate all my lillies, the squirrels dig up all my bulbs. I have given up on a lot of plants because of the wild life.I had this nice little fairy garden planted with a bunch of succulents and overnight something ate all but one. And it is right at my front door.

Got 3 baby bird fledglings in my garage. I think they are wrens. There is a piece of weather striping on bottom of door that is missing so that is how they get in. Don’t have the heart to fix it now since they come back every year.

Here is us one trying to fly in side garage. I startled when I came in garage.

A neighbor swore they saw a Florida Panther on the edge of the woods around one of our community lakes the other day. Most in the community thought she was crazy. Turns out there was a documented sighting down the street in a backyard in Saint Cloud, FL the week before. So it’s very possible she did see the panther.
