So I have just gotten a tank and I had an old stand that I’m using. My tanks overflow drain is very close to the stands centerbraces. Screwing the bulkhead in it isn’t touching but is very close to touching. I am worried when I fill it up with water maybe the wood will crack the glass. Will my tank bow at all downwards towards the wood?

if you ever have a problem or leak with that bulkhead. I see no way to replace it except draining the tank to move it.

I can't tell how close it is but I wouldn't think the tank would bow near an edge, not sure if it is on a rubber mat or foam? that could sink.

If it was me I would not risk it.

You don’t think it will effect the strength of the stand?
IMO I don't think you need to remove enough that it will be an issue. That said I'm not an engineer and my advise is just what I would do.

It’s on the wood of the stand.

Is it a rimmed aquarium, or is it rimless? If it's rimmed, that's fine. If it's rimless, you'll need to place an appropriate foam mat or sheet between the aquarium and the stand.

Trimming away just enough wood so that the bulk heads aren't in contact with the wood will not weaken the stand. If you were to cut out a big chunk ... or remove the crossmember altogether ... that would be a different story, and would weaken the stand.

That said...

Even just trimming away a little bit of the wood still leaves you with the potential for a big problem: It looks like there's very little room to get in there with your hands or pliers or a wrench to tighten the bulkheads (they should be hand tight plus 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn further) ... or the pvc connectors that attach to them ... if they ever loosen or leak.

If it were me, I'd either modify the stand so the back wall and cross-members aren't so close to the bulkheads ... or get/make a stand that is a more appropriate fit for the tank.

I always recommend to change any bulkhead that is a year or more old or at least the gasket

How do you plan to plumb this, the bulkhead is broken. Second do you have a miter saw? If so just build a stand for it. The issue I see is you have to remove the tank from the stand to tighten or loosen the nut on the bulkhead. What happens when you find it has a small leak and you need to adjust the nut, or you have to remove the bulkhead when the tank is full?.

I am getting a new one but was just seeing if a bulkhead would even fit under there. I think I would be able to use a wrench under there on the left side.
