Im doing a new nano build the tank is 52cm x 40cm x 40cm will a two bulb t5 unit be enough for sps, as the tank is only small?

That entirely depends on the size of the fixture you plan on installing as well as the bulbs you plan on using.

The fixture will be the length of the tank and ill use aquablue specials

At 40 cm (16") wide, I would go with 4 bulbs.
