I have an RODI unit and am aware that it isnt safe to drink regularly because of the lack of ions or something a long that line which makes the water suck the nutrients out of our bodies when it enters.

Can I just mix a little bit of regular water in as the "supply" of ions for this?
Ex: For my 5 gallon drinking jug- mix about 1/2 gallon regular water?

If you want to drink it, tee off the RO before the DI and it's the same as you'd find in an under-sink filter. As for your question, I hesitate to answer as to its safety...

But again, no need to waste DI resin. Just tee off your RO and you have purified and safe to drink water. My apologies if you already knew that and have a reason to need to know if some existing RODI water is safe or the like.
