It started as what looked like a wrinkle, now is white. One spot, one side. New to tank, housed with blue damsel and some other less jerky mates.

Bite? Or disease?

He is healthy and eating, otherwise.

Hard to see, definitely damaged, can you get a little longer video showing the injury?

That damsel looks like trouble... I’d imagine that’s where the damage came from by the way he’s keeping the wrasse in the rock :/

I think the biggest concern will be infection. It’s hard to see in the videos because the wrasse is moving so fast... but when I freeze the frame it looks like there is some round marks with white discoloration around them?

Had a feeling the damsel would need to go...that will be fun to catch

The wound looks like red with white around it.

I know it might be hard with the damsel in there chasing it... but if there is anyway to get a photo close-up, it might be helpful. If the fish were already in QT I’d likely just recommend antibiotics, but I don’t want to stress you or the fish unnecessarily lol

Is this clear enough...it is really hard to get a good picture of him!

Yes, that is great - thank you. By the looks of the second picture, I do think this is a case where antibiotics would be in order :( Do you have a QT tank available?

I do have a QT tank. I will remove the damsel if you think the wrasse can heal in the regular tank. I got a whole $2 store credit for my last 2 damsels (this is the last damsel)

He might have a better chance of fighting it if he isn’t being chased and stressed. I’ll watch for a day or 2 and see how he does. Otherwise, I will quarantine and treat.

At least the damsel is out.

Looking at it again...I probably wouldn’t wait to treat him with antibiotics. I would work on getting him into QT ASAP. Something like this can go south pretty quickly and then it might be too late...
