I noticed some more air bubbles on the leaves. So far so good.

I noticed that the grass photosynthesize quicker when the sun is shining on them through the window. The codium algae produced so many bubbles that it floated to the top of the tank!

Very old thread. Not sure you will get a reply? You thinking of using soil? I’m using organic pot soil to grow mangroves in my reef tank very successfully.YOOOO UPDATE
I think op used soil for saltwater marsh and wanted to kill pests. Regardless, imo baking is not necessary.I just don’t know why they baked the soil, nothing should transfer to a salt water environment and would just creat dead organisms?
Thank good to know normal soil does well. But i just received my order it's alluvial dirt from river bank. Hope it work and not making a mess hehe.Very old thread. Not sure you will get a reply? I want to use dirt under sand layer to grow sea grass do you have any experience in that? Or do you think it possible?I would use it as it is with no baking. I used to put garden soil in my tank all the time and I didn't invent that (but I wish I did) It was Robert Straughn "The Father of Salt Water Fish Keeping"
"The Salt Water Aquarium in the Home".
Be a Man, throw that dirt in there and while you are at it, eat some of it. :D
(or a Woman, I am not sure what sex Purple is)
I have heard of some trying this and encountering cloudiness, ph issues in turnI want to use dirt under sand layer to grow sea grass do you have any experience in that? Or do you think it possible?
I'm already ordered the sea grass and having some dirt, the tank will be finished next Monday . I can't wait to start this right away, really love to hear to hear some experience from you.
I tried it. Grow mangrove outdoor very nicely. I wonder if i i can use that same soil to grow sea grass ?Very old thread. Not sure you will get a reply? You thinking of using soil? I’m using organic pot soil to grow mangroves in my reef tank very successfully.
I would tend to think so if separate from tankI tried it. Grow mangrove outdoor very nicely. I wonder if i i can use that same soil to grow sea grass ?
Thank for feedback. I'm a bit worry about that tooI have heard of some trying this and encountering cloudiness, ph issues in turn
Imo, would work great and provide beneficial nutrients.I tried it. Grow mangrove outdoor very nicely. I wonder if i i can use that same soil to grow sea grass ?
Yeah exactly. There’s not much overlap between fresh and saltwater that wayNot sure why, but I would not use them. Most likely they have high nutrient levels like phosphate and other fertilizers that may be run off from some other point in the stream. Fresh water plants are doing good because it is acting like fertilizer. In reef tank those same nutrients are going to reek havoc, algea and unknown other bad chemicals fresh water isn’t sensitive to.
But I am just hypothesizing
