Meet my Yellow Finger, Diodogorgia nodulifera.
In the tank for quite a while and is exceptional beautiful.

Watch the Video in HD 1080P.

Shot the Video with my IPhone only, however.

Have this beauty quite a while now and care and feeding works out great.
Sorry, the Brittle had to get some attention too, lol.

Very nice, one of my favorite gorgonians and " easy " to care for. What do you feed it, since it is non photosynthetic?

Nice looking gorg! How long have you had it and what are you feeding it?

Few months now in the tank and grows and eats, lol.
So I guess for now I'm safe.

I do feed daily frozen cubes and Coral Frenzy coral food every other day or every 3 days.
Coral frenzy is quite much to feed all the LPS, Gorgonians and Zoa's.
No target feeding !!!

Beautiful gorg! I love the photo-bombing starfish too! That guy's got some very long arms.

Here's my Yellow Finger Gorg but I literally have to baste it daily to remove algae from it. I even put an MP10 within inches to ensure proper flow but that doesn't seem to help. My P04 reads 0.03... o_O

I suppose high lighting is the culprit

How did you initially dip it? Also do you experience algae growth on it?

Well I kept it in quarantine and observed a few weeks, no dipping.

Algae growth on this guy is indeed an issue, you gotta blow it off.
I do not have this issue fortunately.

In my case I run Po4 at 0.1 to 0.2 most of the time recently.
However, it takes at least 48 hours before I can see algae on my frontglass.
This is due to the fact that I keep my Po4 and No3 balance in accordance to the Redfield ratio to avoid any nuisance algae outbreak or issue.
Also I do use the Spectrapure Silica removal color changing DI resin to avoid Silicate "supplementation",lol.
And then I have good flow in the tank, taken care by Wavemaker pumps.

Hope that helps a bit.

I love the white polyps with the yellow. I have never had long-term success with these, I suspect due to algae. I'm happy to see it flourishing in your tank and thanks for sharing. It's beautiful! Happy reefing! :)

Honestly in the past and previous tank I could not keep them longer than a few months permanently receeding.
I guess I ran too low on nutrients and did not feed enough.

These days on this tank system, which is a SPS dominated but still a mixed reef, it's difficult but possible to make them all happy.

Those are one of the easier non photosynthetic gorgonians to keep. Their big polyps allow them to feed on many different foods, as long as they have food, good flow they will be ok. Algae problem is easily corrected by putting them in shade, like overhangs or cave. I have specialty NPS system and have 8 of them, but almost no light, no algae can grow even that my PO4 runs 0.7 right now.
