Fish already?!?! :eek:
Yes you guys heard correctly, Your Favorite 6 Gallon now has a fish! So, lets begin by stating clearly HE WILL ONLY BE IN THE TANK FOR A LITTLE BIT. So after shopping around for a Tail spot blenny, or small Goby I ended up empty handed...
Having driven as far as I did I wanted to leave SLC with something. I knew my friend was looking for a baby tang, so when I saw one at the fish store for $20 I grabbed him. He is the size of a Dollar Coin, and that may be an over statement.
Excuse the Duncan's for being camera shy. They decided they weren't ready to be photographed as soon as I grabbed the camera. However, shortly after this I waited for them to open and fed them and the Candy Cane. Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to upload the time-lapse videos so I guess here are just more pictures of happy Corals.
Stay tuned for my real fish choice and sand. :D

Hey atleast the little guy isn’t stuck in a little cube tank at the lfs
The tang I purchased was in my tank for 3 days, and he loved it. Like I said earlier he wasn't going to stay for long and the tank was huge for him. Ratio wise my (17"x10"x9") tank for a 1" fish is substantial. If people had the same ratios for a full grown Yellow Tang then they would have a 423.9 gallon tank for just one fish; (68"x40"x36") 423.9 gallons for a 4 inch tang. However, he is now happy in his new home at my friends house. :) My tank is larger than the tank he was in at the Local Fish Store so I'm sure he didn't mind.
A small Hippo in a 29 gallon is pretty sad though.. Hopefully he gets a new home soon.
As for the tank, I have some updates coming soon. New corals, and inverts!! Happy Reefing everyone! :)
honestly I would never of bought him normally :[ My hippo was in a 20g tank for around 6-7 months at my LFS and the price on him was $80 so no one was really ever going to spend $80 on a fish thats half that everywhere else :\ So I bought him and figured he could at least have a little more room in my tank until I upgrade tanks. Kind of funny because he hands out with my splendid which is the only other fish in the tank haha... I don't have a QT setup for fish as of right now so I was pretty much forced to buy the cleaners in the tank he was in for $42 a pop :\ ... Bubbles (the hippo) LOVES seaweed and nori.. was actually the first time he ever had any was when I got him because the LFS didnt feed any :\
SPS Coral??
So I got some great deals from a local who is also online; his shop is called Reef Kingdom and he is in Ogden, Utah. However, before we jump into that, I thought it would be nice to show off the corals I've had. The GSP and mushroom are looking great if you ask me, I've seen new GSP growth which is crazy, this stuff definitely is a weed.
The Candy Cane has a hard head now, making it 2 and 1/2 heads total. WOW:eek:, what's that I see?? Oh, thats just the RAINBOW ACANS I picked up haha! ;Cat I really like them, under more blue lighting they are Orange and yellow with blue stripes, and some green around the feeding tentacle area. Also,the coral that came on the rocks is recovering extremely well. You can see the green one in the bottom of the photo and the orange in the next.
The Zoanthids are doing well, always open and pretty. I still have no idea what they are called but I like them :)
And here is the SPS corals I picked up! One has browned out some but the green polyps still extend. Phosphate is at .03 and Nitrate is at 5ppm.
I grabbed a Forest Fire Digi, Orange Setosa, Purple/Blue Acro, Bonsai Acro, Harry Potter, and a Green Acropora. I made sure to dip them well and cut the frag plugs off, except for the Bonsai because it is encrusted.

I also snagged some pictures of one of my friends tanks.
He hasn't touched in a few months due to work and traveling, so it wasn't as pretty as it once was, but he is looking to get it back to its former glory soon.
