I just thought I would start a thread to see what everyone is doing as far as care for Zoas/Palys, and see what others have found they like best. Please vote and share your comments below. I have always heard Zoas love MH but have never tried them under that type of lighting.

I have mine in medium light med-high flow. The higher flow creates ‘fluffier’ skirts that have longer lashes which makes my colonies look denser, I like it.

thanks for all the responses so far. I adjusted the poll to include a medium option putting it at 150 par. High light would be 250 par and low light would be 50-100 par to be more specific.

For me T5 and nutrients. Some of mine like higher light, some like lower light just depends on the zoa, but they all seem to like medium flow.

What are some of your high light ones and your low light ones?

This is way to general, it's like asking if the human race prefers carrots or cucumbers ;) Different zoa species have different flow and light preferences.
I agree it is a little general, but that's why you can explain more here in the discussion and select "other". Maybe you could specify some of your zoa's that fall into these different categories?

They Love T5 and get the best colors in them too but I grow many in LED setups... as far as what light it’s completely dependent on the strain of zoa some like higher light some like lower or medium... sometimes you’ll bring out better color in the higher light sometimes you won’t it’s not something that can be generalized too much IMO but if I had to I would shoot for medium flow medium light with room to wiggle
