Zoas and palys?

i know its a dumb question but whats the significant difference between Zoas and Palys? physical appearance and care.

I'm sure theres an expert on here who will sum it up better but, Zoas- smaller, more dense growth pattern. Palys- larger, more color variations, more spread out growth, can usually be fed Mysis, for size reference.

Also I hear palys incorporate sediment into their bodies below the disk

The only difference is that palythoa uses substrate to form their bodies. If you look closely you will be able to see some substrate somewhere in them. It can be anywhere from the body, disc or skirt

I was always told lashes tell as well. I believe Palys alternate up and down eyelashes. Palys are usually a good deal larger. Obviously that doesn't tell you a lot. Hopefullyore will chime in.

Palys usually have a slit like oral opening where as zoas usually have a round oral disc. I've always thought zoas were generally more colorful than palys. Here is a link to an article that lines out the differences and similarities.
