Introduction
The process of calcification or biomineralization in SPS corals is often a head scratcher for most people, let alone reefing hobbyists. I've always wondered myself what really goes on behind the scene. Through research, I reviewed some research papers in order to help us better...
I recently purchased a few corals for my 20 gallon reef tank. One of them is a green acropora. I have had it for a little more than a week and at first it seemed to be doing great. But recently it has started to lose a lot of color and looks kinda pale. If anybody knows what wrong with it and...
I tried to find everywhere…
Does anyone know what’s All-Star acropora species?
Sorry for the bad picture, it is pretty new to the tank here and not fully light acclimated.
I’ve been in the reef-keeping hobby for about a little over two years now and I don’t typically buy frags online unless something catches my attention or there’s a sale going on.
Ive noticed that some sites sell high-end tenuis frags between the prices of $100-300 per 1” and I’ve come across...
I wasn't sure where to post this, so I figured the lobby is okay?
I wanted to show some 3d digital artwork I've been working on. Its a series called Coral Planet.
All the animations are set up to loop, but the loop doesn't seem to work in the forum :(
Let me know what you think! Feedback...
Hi guys, after I read some threads it's still unclear whether I have enough flow for my acros or not.
The problem is: I see no polyps extension at all, all of them are hidden (except one acro). I bought all the frags 5 days ago. Could such behaviour be related to reduced flow in my tank...
LRO Voodoo Child is HOT and ready to rock! It's been cooking for a while and it's finally hot and ready to be served!!

Unfortunately overdid the fluconazole treatment a little bit and lost my nice mini colony of WD. Slightly heartbroken. I am also looking for an unopened 4 pack of Versa pumps for a water change project that has been on hold for awhile now. If you have either of these items post pics and let me...

Hi wondering if anybody happens to know what this Acro is or resembles close to?
It’s sold as Bling Bling Acro - but not able to find any info on this.
Hi All,
I don't post on reef2reef all that often since i am also active on a country specific forum, but i do read a lot on reef2reef.
I am a long time SPS keeper (20 years now), but am currently facing something i have never seen before.
First some background information about the system:

Introduction:
I have a modest following on Instagram: @Hardy_Reef detailing the progress of my Red Sea Reefer 350 and figured I should document a build thread on Reef2Reef.
I'll start by showing where I currently am in the hobby and where I have come from. I dove into this hobby in 2018 with...
I currently have a 48" SBox Pro from SB Reef Lights and a 48" T5 in the front as shown. My tank measures 48" long. I'm considering adding an additional 1-2 T5 bulbs on the rear of the tank for better light spread and shadowing issues. Currently, with how far up the T5 has to be mounted to allow...
What can anyone tell me about this coral? Based on my limited research it could be Acropora carduus, but information I've found is either contradictory (needs high light or is a deep water coral and is fine in medium light) or sparse. I have an XR 15 blue and was planning to keep it near the top...
Hello
I recently detected some acroporas with blenching from the base
Colud you identify if it are stn or maybe someone is eating my corals?
alk:7.3
Mg: 1250
Ca:500
pO4: .17
This is mine after 7 months of growth under radion g5 pros running AB+ for 9 hours a day with roughly an hour ramp up and down.
As you can see, its mostly red/brown with a green/yellow base. Is this coloration normal?
and here it is 7 months ago when I first got it.
I recently a month ago removed a very aggressive colony. All that was left were skeletal remains from incrustation. Today I noticed it is coloring up and birthing polyps. Has anyone experienced this? There was zero zooxanthellae left after the surgery. Just curious if any of you pros can explain.
Par database with tank builds, specially acropora-dominant, under LED lights
Hi folks, I believe this is a REALLY cloudy topic.
Most of @Dana Riddle ’s amazing articles have shown that 250-350 PAR is pretty adequate for most Acropora.
On the other hand we have seen many extreme PAR (800ish)...
