My friend Angelo’s insane Chicago Anemone that won’t split… (those Nasos are full size) I’m guessing it’s about 18-20” diameter (you could fit a golfball in its mouth easily)
Anyone else seen a bubble tip this big that hasn’t split?
Woke up to my BTA looking like this today. It’s been looking a bit rough and I’ve been keeping an eye on parameters and staying on top of feeding it. Other BTA looks great. Is this one too far gone and if not how can I help it?

My Rainbow BTA I ordered off of eBay has been in my tank for 4 days now. I fed it a rice size piece of krill on the second day and a pencil eraser size piece of raw shrimp today. I fed it because half of the nem is puffyish and the other half is retracted. The tips of the tentacles have been...

Hey All!
I got 2 more questions about my BTA (BTA is a rainbow and is 2 inches in size. It’s been in the tank for about 72 hours now):
1. In the mornings it stays small with it’s tentacles retracted (not deflated). At about 12-1pm it starts to look better and it stays better through the night...
Good morning,
you guys are always a wealth of information so hoping you can help me out. My BTA only has tentacles on one side of its body. It’s about 1 year old and some days looks better than others. Have fed shrimp and is active in feeding but have left it alone for about two weeks. Doesn’t...
Hello fellow reefheads.. First post here... i bought an anemone from my LFS 8 days ago and he is still hiding in this cave from the light. It is my first anemone and it has this crazy crazy vibrant pink color to it, like way more vibrant then the other BTAs. Healthy looking foot, dark brownish...
long story short. I was gifted this beautiful BTA when my tank was only a month old (his name is Rubble.) It somehow managed to survive every cycle crash, salinity swings, nitrates sky high, being hand fed HUGE pieces of Krill shrimp 3x a day… The works.
We are about 5 months into our journey...
So anyone who's seen my first build thread or read any of my several posts about planning this upgrade may already know this, but while this is my second reef tank, it's my first one with a sump, so the learning curve has been steep this time around as well.
I've been planning this upgrade...
I’ve got a rose BTA that is about 10 inches now and has never split and a lot of 1-3 inch ultra speckled BTAs that split every 2-3 days. What do y’all think influences the frequency of a BTA splitting?
This was sold to me as a gbta but now I’m starting to wonder if maybe it’s something else. It has been the same color since I got it and it has not moved since it’s been in the tank. All of my water parameters are where they should be. It’s been in the tank for almost 1 month. I use an LED...

I’m in the market for a cheap BTA. $50 is what I’m looking to spend. I live in Louisville Kentucky open to getting one shipped or possibly picked up (if I have time). The color and size doesn’t matter to me just want something to protect my clownfish. If you know of a website that has good...
So guys!
Yesterday (10/10) I stopped by my LFS and while choosing some frags (acan & gsp) decided to take the plunge and get myself a nice green bubble tip anemone. I had previously picked up two clowns about two months ago and they’ve been doing really good.
After getting home and acclimating...
My first rainbow BTA started out beautiful, but quickly declined over 2 weeks to the point where it was barely attached to a rock. I decided to treat him with ciprofloxacin according to @OrionN protocol (link below). Cipro treatment for anemones is hotly debated, so I’m going to post it’s...
So my BTA likes to deflate since I got him 2 months ago usually around the evening other than that he seems to be doing good. He is only about 2” in diameter when fully inflated so I assume he is a recent split. He eats when I have fed him and the clown actually took to him unlike the other 2...
