Hello,
I’m in California and finding it challenging to get a renters insurance policy that would cover potential damages of the property that I’m renting in case of a tank failure. I’m not looking to cover my aquarium or livestock, just the property damage itself. I’ve done some research but...
Found a chip in the bottom corner of my waterbox 35.1 x sump after buying it the other day. Unfortunately, I do not want to chance the risk of a leak as it will be on the second floor and carpet. Does anyone have any recommendations for a sump that would fit in a 16 x 16 space / have an idea as...
Should I reseal 300 g 8’ glass cages tank? It does not leak, although has flat nonsticky silicone on one corner and a chip in another corner. If so what type of silicone is ideal and can it just go over old silicone as long as it still touches glass? What about placing new pieces of glass on...

I was cleaning my 55g aquarium and I flipped it over to inspect it further. It seems that some of the bottom trim flexes a little when I try to push against it.
Is this structurally concerning? It doesn't seem to leak from what I could tell - it's been holding water for days.
A little over 3 year old Reefer 250 front seam about to fail. we noticed a few days before Christmas that sand was seeping into the front seam, honestly ignored it for a few days. it rapidly got worse with more and more sand pouring into the seam, did some searching in this forum and was...
Last night the gasket on my canister filter broke, and the only other filtration I have right now is a hang on back filter rated for a 30g tank and mine is a 55g. Also all it’s running is biomedia. Do y’all think this would be fine until my new gasket comes? It should arrive on the 11th of next...
Hello!
I was having a couple of issues with my Aquamaxx HOB 1.5 and wanted to share my solutions. Photos included.
Issue #1: the seal/stopper for the collection cup is poor AND/OR the skimate was too wet AND/OR the water level rose too high in the skimmer
Issue #2: the seal between the box and...
Here's a long one. Please any info helps I'll attach pictures of my setup
So I might have a leak. Last night about 4 cups of water went missing in about 4 hours.
Before this happened, my last recorded salinity was 1.025. And My tank has glass lids that cover the entire top AND a canopy so...
I will a Waterbox AIO 50.3 inbound and wondering what's the best way to do a leak test on an AIO aquarium?
The day it arrives, I plan to build the cabinet and place the aquarium on the stand as soon as possible which will allow me to examine it fully and report back to WB within 24hrs if...
Anyone with any insight into this issue - please let me know. Just set up the new Waterbox 130.4 - did a leak test on the overflow which showed no issued and then turned on the pump. Noticed a leak between the tube and the plastic barb from the return pump hose. Of course Waterbox support is...
Is my tank leaking? Or just the humidity due to the tank? Under the table where the tank is put in, the tiles is always slightly wet, wet like when you blow against your window and it fogs and you touch it, thats what it feels.
Hello everyone,
OK, so, I kinda rushed into buying a 450 red sea reefer as it was alot bigger than mine and was close to home. The family I got it off seemed really genuine and felt right when I brought it. Once I got it home and had more chance to inspect it further I notice a couple of...
I added the XP Aqua Flood Guardian to my system after the "great flood". I mounted the solenoid after the RODI and set the sensor in the ATO reservoir. I got up yesterday morning to a puddle on the floor. It looks like there is a small split in the housing of the solenoid. There has also been...
I noticed a gap in the silicone on the outside seam of a new 90 gallon aquarium. It is about a cm long and not very deep but is concerning to me. Is something to be worried about especially long term? The inside seam looks good, the tank is new and has not been filled.
I am building and plumbing a 120 gallon with a sump. This is my first time plumbing anything and I may have made a mistake. The threaded connector which connects into my bulkhead is leaking on both sides from my return pump. I wrapped the threads in Teflon tape, but they are still leaking. The...
I discovered that my 55 gallon display tank is slowly leaking from a bottom corner of the tank, I’m not losing a lot of water, about an inch a week (I know this might sound like evap but it’s not, there is water visibly seeping from the corner of my tank and the floor is wet under that corner)...
I am water testing my new Red Sea 3xxl 900. When I filled up the sump which sits on a foam pad in the stand it looks as though there is water or air trapped under there, or just that the foam is being pressed against the glass more in a specific spot. I did notice this right away, however...
Hello friends,
Last night during a water change we noticed a leak coming from the return tubing on our 160 gal mixed reef tank in our school. When we took a look, it was actually coming from the tank-bulkhead connection. We were able to wiggle it for it to stop leaking, but of course we want to...
Hey all,
Setting up an innovative marine INT 75 and just hard plumbed to the sump ( icecap 30) .
Ifilled with fresh water to leak test and everything’s working as intended but the drain bulkheads all have a very slight leak.
they’re hand tightened very snug. Should I attempt to snug...
Well, I'm blessed this time because the disaster could have been so much worse.
My Tunze RODI solenoid that sits behind my 150 gallon tank and manages my top-off, failed big-time this week. By failed, I mean that the brass snapped (how does this even happen with low pressure purified water...
Hey!
So over the last three or so days, the bottom front seam of my Aqueon 210g aquarium has started dribbling, and the pace of the leak has escalated. I have no pictures, I slathered silicon over the seam as a last minute thing but the water is still leaking through, slowly but surely. I need...
Hi, I was just getting my tank set back up again and filling up the display with water. Just when it started to get to the level that water was flowing down the durso pipe, I started to notice some leaking. I have an SCA 66 tank, which hold about ~50 gallons up in the display and has a ~20...
