I had this tailspot blenny for a few months and never seen it pick at sps. However, recently it started to nip at my setosa and capricornis. Just a side note that I recently switched to rowa and maybe the phos dropped too quick but I definitely see nipping.
I've been meaning to ask about this for awhile. I got a small piece of this last summer and its been growing downwards ever since. Always seemed healthy otherwise. Grows fast as you would imagine. Other plating motnis and branching acros have encrusted are growing normally.
The full tank...

Ive had this rainbow montipora for a little over 2 mos. As you can see its almost covered the whole plug. However, in last 3 days this has shown up. Ive searched for nudis and not found any. This is my only montipora so i dont have reference. Other corals are doing better than ever. Even a favia...
I’m pretty new to sps I have a birdsnest, monti cap, and a red digi. My birdsnest is growing but all of the polyps turned from green to brown but the tips are still green. I thought it wasn’t getting enough light because of the brown color and I put it higher up and some branches are bleaching...
I've been collecting corals, but couldn't figure it out.
this first one, I'm thinking Cyphastrea? But what kind?
#2 – I have no idea.
3 –Favia or Favites? But which? (incidentally, apparently my Photoshop work sucks. The guy on the left is far more yellow, then green. Bright yellow!)...
Got this little guy a couple weeks ago, I bought 5 WWC corals off their Ebay page and everything is growing nicely and looking really nice but this one just looks weird. I don’t have the exact number for parameters at the moment so I’m not sure what’s going on....
I’ve tried a bunch of...
The Sulawesi Beach Exhibit is cared for by myself, Tim Morrissey, at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium.
The tank is roughly 20 foot wide and 3 foot deep at the front. The display is about 10,000 gallons and the reserve is as well, making for a total near 20,000 gallons.
A wave enters the...

Hi guys!
So I picked up this setosa frag from a local frag swap about a week ago. It has this little brown spot on it and so I asked the vendor if it would heal and they said it would. I've been keeping an eye on it and now it has turned white. I don't know what it is or if it's getting better...

Lay it on me fellow reefers, which Montipora species in your experience grow slowly (assuming one starts with a healthy, well lit reef with good flow)? Scientific name would be great. Trade name or even no name with a picture is absolutely acceptable.
Hello,
a friend of mine has a setosa and would like to know about these little antennas sticking out of the coral.
They move in the flow and retract on contact, like a feather duster.
Are they any reason to be concerned or to dip the coral?
Could they cause the polyps to not extend fully...

This is a Montipora but we are not sure about the species. Dane believes this was collected from the wild (but it looks grafted) over 2 years ago and we only have 1 frag available at this time.

I've had this montipora for a few months, and it has lost a lot of color since I got the frag from a reef club member. Recently I've seen these snails crawling all over it and don't know what they are! What is killing my monti cap????
Hey all!
I posted in an earlier thread that I received some new corals. I don't have a frag rack, nor are any of these new corals on plugs. Not exactly sure what they are, but I'm going to go with DSC Reef's guesses and say one is a brownish plating monti, a confusa spongode monti, a...
Hey guys. Posted in another post about QT'ing these corals. Figured I'd also post about identifying the exact corals or names. I know three are a species of Montipora and one is a candy cane. Just looking for specifics please. Also; ideal placement for each would be fantastic! Thanks guys.
