going one piece on the lid, light mount will be DIY and will not effect the lid

1 1/2 sould be good for feed ports on both sides

Ok, I need to get this off my chest! I absolutely, with out a doubt, hate filter socks! This is my first time and I can’t stand them. It makes me want to pickle people. Shoot, I don’t feel any better.

socks are worthless... too much work...designing the new tank with just two felt pads that I can change out ever few days. Throw the dirty ones away and put new one in.

new tank has internal over flow box 36x6x23 with three chambers.. middle chamber has the three pipes.. the other two will have prefilter felt pads and maybe bio balls ...the water will pass through the felt pads and then go under the two water block walls into the middle chamber...and to the over flow pipes..

or use a grate and put a felt pad across it and throw it away every few days...
So long as it's not a sock any other option is fine just don't ask me about filter rollers, I despise them.

Sorry guys... 22 pages.

I was hosting a fishing derby today at the Lake so my son and I went up yesterday to get some shoreline staked out.

27 guys showed up for the fun.

I caught:

The first fish
The most fish
The biggest fish
And I had the smallest fish until about 20 minutes before the end of the derby.

I caught 3, fishing was slow. Biggest was around a 6 pound large mouth, smallest was around 2.5 pounds but only around 10 or 11 inches. Big old fat belly! My smallest was around 13" but only around 1.5 pounds (so technically I caught the smallest as well?).
