Does it exists a pump/power head that is 100% safe from suicide anemones?
This question was born yesterday when my RBTA tried to kill herself into my Voyager nano 2000, she is totally safe (don’t know how is possible). Someone suggested The ecotech vortech mp10, but it doesn’t look safety than mine. I tought about the AI Nero. What do you think?

While no pump--even with a guard--is 100% safe, the size and type of pump make a big difference. For example, gyre pumps are typically located towards the top of the tank and are out of reach of many anemones, particularly the species that prefer to scoot or crawl around the tank. Other anemones that over-inflate and puff up like a balloon--like BTAs--can still get caught on a gyre but their design (short turbine versus something with long blades) makes an anemone less likely to get shredded.

100% safe? No. However, as mentioned above, a nem guard for your specific powerhead will help.

Agreed. Only safe solution is to remove the anemone or implement a system without internal pumps.

OP - anemones will typically roam until they find a spot they like or feel safe in or get whatever it is they are looking for. At some point they may move for whatever reason which non of us know why and that can cause trouble. Trouble for corals in the display or itself by running across a pump. I had some in an older 40 breeder that I had a external skimmer, CPR Bak Pak, and one of the clones got pulled into the skimmers pump intake. And it had a very fine protective cover on it yet still got pulled in a bit as it was so small.

Anemone guards exist be it 3D printed, foam covers, or a combination of both. They help but at the end of the day the power level of these devices still may present an issue.

All the best.

Couod skip powerheads altogether and use an oversized sump, oversized return pump and RFGs/locline on the return nozzles. Not sure if this is a great idea, though. I like having a powerhead to keep water movement if the return fails...
