I'm just the sort of guy who'd try a trigger or angelfish in my tank, so you'll have no flak from this quarter. They're magnificent fish, so long as they behave themselves.

Yes especially that one its the maxspact f 280. I had two going in alternating wave pulse mode and even the Achilles had trouble swimming against it. With the single fire 280 I have it in wave pulse mode alternating at 10% to 20% and even with that its a lot of flow. Took me a while to find a space that the frogspawn and hammer coral were not getting blown away. So short answer is yes one gyre 280 is overkill for that tank lol.

This was during cycling with just one f280's in wave pulse mode from 60 to 30 percent in wave pulse mode. After I counter synced the second and it helped a little with keeping the sand on the ground but was still too much.

Yeah, I had 2 Wav pumps on my tank and it was way too much movement. The sand was stirring up too much , but every picture I see of other people's tanks and they have multiple power heads aimed at all angles

they probably aren't the 280s

Nice build. Following along to see how the clown trigger and emperor angel behave. I had both of those fish in my first tank. That was early 90s so there was no coral. Two of my all time favorite fish. I'm rooting for your success. Hope they leave the corals alone

so my big coral order never made it..... got stuck in Kentucky then NH....I was on the phone with UPS all day and even offered to make the 3 hour drive to NH to pick up my package yesterday but they would not allow that ... now it is at my local UPS facility and I still can't get it because of the holiday .... not coming until tom and its been sitting in a truck/plane since Tuesday .... looks like ill be opening a box of car skeletons tom :(
