Here is a thread on my latest project, this started earlier in the year to upgrade from my 5ft tank.
Display Tank:
Custom 7'x 2.5' x 1.5' (l w h) 12mm glass one piece euro, internal weir
Display Lighting:
Hydra 52 x 4 (will add another 1 or 2 depending on coverage)
Stand:
Custom steel frame clad in poly
Sump:
Dimension 90 x 50 x 40 ( l w h)
System Water:
Artificial Sea Water
Filtration:
NP All In One Biopellets in a Reef Dynamics re-circulating reactor
Return Pump:
RD3 Speedy 6500lph
Skimmer:
Bubble King Double Cone 200 RD3 Speedy
Additions:
2-Part via GHL Doser 2
The Tank:
Original plan was to use a Giesemann Matrixx 2 T5 light, but that had few issues so have decided to give LED a run again.
Lots of glue and aquaknead to make the floating scape
Originally had the lights in a line but felt coverage wasnt the best and would cause shadowing
While waiting for the AI rail to arrive (6 weeks) I decided to do a bit of DIY and whipped up a frame to hang the lights in parallel. Getting great coverage front to back, need another unit to get more coverage length wise in the meantime will add my corals within the light coverage. Interesting the tank looks crisper with the lights this way than run in a line as previous and the shimmer is like having halides thrown over the tank.
