Here is a thread on my latest project, this started earlier in the year to upgrade from my 5ft tank.

Display Tank:
Custom 7'x 2.5' x 1.5' (l w h) 12mm glass one piece euro, internal weir

Display Lighting:
Hydra 52 x 4 (will add another 1 or 2 depending on coverage)

Stand:
Custom steel frame clad in poly

Sump:
Dimension 90 x 50 x 40 ( l w h)

System Water:
Artificial Sea Water

Filtration:

NP All In One Biopellets in a Reef Dynamics re-circulating reactor

Return Pump:
RD3 Speedy 6500lph

Skimmer:
Bubble King Double Cone 200 RD3 Speedy

Additions:
2-Part via GHL Doser 2

The Tank:
Original plan was to use a Giesemann Matrixx 2 T5 light, but that had few issues so have decided to give LED a run again.

Lots of glue and aquaknead to make the floating scape

Originally had the lights in a line but felt coverage wasnt the best and would cause shadowing

While waiting for the AI rail to arrive (6 weeks) I decided to do a bit of DIY and whipped up a frame to hang the lights in parallel. Getting great coverage front to back, need another unit to get more coverage length wise in the meantime will add my corals within the light coverage. Interesting the tank looks crisper with the lights this way than run in a line as previous and the shimmer is like having halides thrown over the tank.

Thanks!

Took some PAR readings today, left the sensor about half way down the tank, lights are 12" AWL.

I like your aquascape it creates a unique structure for the corals to grow on.

Beautiful floating rock scape. I'll be interested to see how you like all LED for this tank. :D

Really like the aquascape. Would love to see some pics of that being built, if you took some.

Wow thanks for all the likes on the scape, I really did enjoy making it and still like to look at it watching it all grow. I did take some pics of the build of it, not too many but here are some

When designing it I tried to get 1/3 on each side of the centre line for aesthetics

Well done!! It looks like it ended up a single piece. How did you get it in the tank without breaking it? It must weigh a ton!

Yep it was heavy, and yes it is one piece! My bro helped me but we got it in place no worries.

I dont have a pic of the sump, but its pretty simple...first section the water drops in from the display (the bio pellet reactor is in this section also), then some baffles to the skimmer section and baffles again to the return.

This tank has been on a rollercoaster ride hasn't it? I remember when you were all Mitras, then switched to T5's. Do you think the Hydras will be better than the Mitras?

That was the old 5ft tank, this one is new this year.

Old tank had lots of lighting...Giesemann Infiniti, ATI Powermodule, Vertex Illumina, GHL Mitras, ATI Hybrid.

Time will tell how the Hydra goes compared to the Mitras, initial thoughts are the blending of colors is nicer, its brighter, but this could be cause im running more units.
