To be honest these are all things I'm almost sure everyone here has had happen sometimes things die for no reason or there's no ahhh haaa that's what it was moment I'm almost willing you could search this site and find this same situation hundreds of times don't fret we learn something new all the time

That being said what's your flow like? From what I remember you have a pretty professional tank I read it somewhere

My advice leave it alone lol which is impossible for a reefer head lol just let it happen

Impossible is absolutely correct. I wake up several times a night to check on my babies. I haven't disturbed her other than to wipe the poo and shedding from her surroundings. She just floats. Got the meds in. 2 powders to mix with shrimp and a liquid to treat the tank after for preventative measures. Mixing new water now to get joe out. I opened the medicine and someone had used 90% of the powder and returned it. That's messed up. It looked unopened but there's enough for maybe 3 scoops and that's it. Couldn't tell by looking at the box. Those people shouldn't have babies. Flow is is good. 2 double head intake / return 950s and 2 850's with another lower power near bottom.

If that's working which it appears
to be then I agree don't change it yet..she'll recover and you can put him/her in the tank later and know you went all out to get her healthy! I think you've done a really good job!
That's only because I have you all to save my behind !! ❤️❤️❤️

Oooh yeah! Is that a Japanese surgeon? I think so.

That is a Male Blonde Naso Tang. And I just have to say with no disrespect intended. This thread is all over the place. It started with the Nem. I wanted to see howit turned out so jumped to page 9. Only to find a conversation about Anitbiotics (wrong name was given, should be Metronidazole) sold as Metroplex. I read back a few pages to find, well I don't even know, but not what I expected. It is just frustrating spending time reading these posts trying to find an answer to the initial post.
I don't know anyting about your system, and at this point don't really want to. Only advice I'm going to leave you with, and take it or leave it.
That advice is STOP DOING EVERYTHING EXCEPT WATER CHANGES....... and let everythng just be. This is extremely vague and arrogant, I know. But from what I've read everything you have done to this point and everything (that I have read) that you are planning can and will make things worse. I'm sorry that this sounds mean spritied, but I have taken the time to read this thread and this is the only advice I can give given what I have read.

Thank you for your feedback. We are watching her ( nem) and updating daily. Sorry for going off topic. I can see where that would be frustrating. She's off and on as I'm sure you read and I'm just following instructions on keeping water parameters right with the water changes. Nothing's really been done but the nursing basket and some food introduced but with the feedback, am going off it can take some time - so I don't really have any final result yet. The group asked for pics and so I update daily to see their thoughts. Yes other fish came up as I thought only a few of my friends were following. I know this site is intended to help but wasn't sure if anyone really reads it past a the first day as I'm not forum savvy yet. Sorry to have frustrated you. We all start somewhere and I'll make sure to keep this focused on my nem so I hopefully can be of some help. I'm new to the hobby so I have a lot of questions as I'm sure everyone has. I hope you accept my apology and find the help you need for your baby!!

Also the antibiotics and what not are in another tank. DT hasn't had anything but water changes. Here she is today looking decent. I've done 6 hours exposure to T5 lights and then off. Made concoction of shrimp and phyto and put them on her tentacles to allow her to eat which she has. ( every few days). She's hanging in for right now!

First off, by the pics that's not a Condy, looks like a bubble tip of sorts. All 3 pics look normal to me. The anemone will completely expel all water and ball up when stressed and certainly when getting used to a new water quality and environment. I say let it be and give it a chance.

I don't understand when you say you "trust their expertise" after you know they falsely sold you the wrong nem..claimed afterwards they don't sell those nems..and you admitted to watching a guy rip 4 from the rocks..you even stated they would now die..so why do you trust their expertise. ..I wouldn't go back unless you like flushing money...sounds like they'll rell you anything you want to hear to make a buck..

I truly hopes she makes it, I completely understand how you feel about your little guys, I do the same. Listen to the pros on here, if she can be helped, they will lead you into the right direction of recovery.

The short answer is to trust no one. This is too diverse of a hobby to get your information from one source. I work at an LFS and my boss has one opinion, I have another, and the internet has another. Get as many opinions from as many sources is really the only sure-fire way to be safe. However the employee should have really just told you that he did not know what he was talking about so that you could do your own research. No shame in not knowing everything about this hobby (which no one really does).

I hate to talk bad about a local store but... Dallas North is a great store for dry goods, although it is a horrible store for livestock.
Since you live in McKinney you need to check out Exotic Aquatics in Plano. I'm sorry your experience with the anemone but be cautious of Dallas North all together.

I've been in the hobby in the same area as you for years and there are not many good livestock lfs around.

I have to agree with the most recent posts. Stick to water changes to keep your parameter where they need to be. The hardest thing is to let things work them selves out. As previously stated, Dallas Aquarium is good for used equipment and dry good selection. Exotic Aquatics has a couple knowlegeable guys that I trust and never had a bad experience livestock wise.

1) No no I meant Yalls expertise!! Here at r2r. If I said i trust someone somewhere else it would be our aquarium guy who comes to maintain weekly and teach us. I also trust my mentors I've met from here. I don't trust the store.

Comment 2) We have a new LFS we are going to for the meds. Cheaper too but diesel has introduced me to a long timer here who's local and I look forward to working with her

3) yes I am learning from the comments the shedding and expelling could be normal. I was told to throw her away and was seeking help. It's my first nem so I thought the LFS was right that she was dead. I will know now going forward how they can act.

4) was told by my mentor it was a sebae and the store said it was PBTA and then the manager said no they don't sell those and it's a sebae. Some here say sebae. Not sure who knows better than the other at this point.

Nonetheless she's back to brown stump and a small smell but I'm not sure when to determine they're gone so I just leave her alone every day now. She just floats. We will see. :)

This is what keeps happening not sure if it's turning itself over. I've read not to turn it back over or handle it but the bottom of the strainer is solid so I'm at a loss. Leaving it be this time as I have to handle her when I flip her and by now I've read enough not to. Hard to see in pic but the trunk is light- medium brownish. But now she's opened back up. ( fell asleep for a few hours and before looked like it was about to split in half. Two sides tucked all the way in. I will close this thread now so as not to bother anyone else. Thanks for everyone's help and sorry it's been so confusing. Much appreciated though to have great support on pushing through it. Thanks so much and wish you all healthy happy babies!
