Noooo....
Do you need help with anything? You have such a nice tank. Don't want to see you go this route.

Thanks for the offer but I got a handle on it finally. Shutting the tank down was an overreaction, I was just frustrated and flustered. I may hit you up for a small test frag when I am ready again.

I have started the slow process of getting the water back under control, I probably won't be trying any new fuzzy sticks until around thanksgiving. I got a new high quality biopellet reactor because low/no tumble is a contributing factor to the poor water quality. Also I'm going to begin the tedious process of cleaning pumps and replacing older pieces before they fail. I also am considering getting an apex controller with the WiFi connection so I can keep an eye on it and catch a problem before it causes a tank crash.

Tank doing better?

I sure hope so, but I'm in Boston for another 2 week stint, so all I know is the fish are being fed and the waters getting topped off. I'll be home for a month straight after this trip so hopefully I can get it all squared away before I leave again.

Bit the bullet and cashed in overtime and ordered this.

Time to get this tank back in order!

Nice purchase.
If I were you, I'd nuke those shrooms. I have enough to coral to fill it out if you'd like me to frag you some.

I'm not sure how to go about that without harming anything else in the tank.

After a couple 5gal water changes and locating the source of all the nutrients that caused the cyano bloom, the tank is falling back into place. I also am starting to learn the apex system which is helping me automate my system and keep an eye on parameters. I added 2 PP8 powerheads and moved the PP4's back so there is no longer any deadspots in the tank. I added a piece of green plating Monti as kind of a "test" piece before aquiring some new frags. I will post some pictures after cleaning the front glass.

I just returned home after a long 3 week work trip and my tank is showing the signs of neglect. It has been a rough couple of months for my tank. I had a crash crash in October which wiped out all of my sps and made me consider getting out of the hobby. I love my tank and after a few water changes I was ready to get back to sps. Unfortunately my work didn't care that I had committed to making my tank great again, and off I went on a jet plane (sucks being an adult). Every time I would return home after 2 or 3 weeks my tank would be in OK shape no where near what I would call great for sps. During this time away I began reinvesting into the equipment in my tank. I bought the new apex, which I love, a new biopellet reactor, new powerheads, began implementing apex products into the tank and also creating failsafe should something go wrong. In the last 8 weeks I have only been home for 2 of them so I have been reading and searching for something that can help me maintain the stability I need without me being able to be there. I have decided that I am going to start an automatic water change program on the hopes that it will add another layer of stability. I just recieved an apex dos unit in the mail and bought a 20 gallon brute trash can. I have a month to dial it in before I have to leave again. Here is what my tank looks like as of right now before I go to work cleaning it up.

I cleaned the tank today and snapped a before and after picture. The front glass hadn't been cleaned in a couple of weeks (my least favorite maintenence act. It also has been 1 full week on the auto water change and I can say my tank looks much better and my parameters are beginning to stabalize. My Ph is slightly low at 7.8-8 throughout the day but the .2 swing used to be 7.6-8 before the AWC.

Also bought a couple of pieces of sps from the tidal gardens live sale. I will post a pick of them after I get them mounted.

Was about to start cleaning the front of the tank when this guy came out so I snapped a good pic of him. He doesn't come out of his cave very often but he is my probably my favorite fish in the tank.
