I just took a video of my 37 gallon FOWLR this morning and went back to compare to a video I took when I started the tank in May 2023. Thought I'd share the videos on this forum.
Tank is a tall 37 gallon, started with dry rock (obviously). This is my first tank. A small $20 internal surface skimmer is the only mechanical filtration. I clean the glass, skimmer & power head and change 5 gallons once a week. About half of the wafer changes I do a little sand siphoning.
Had a Ich outbreak early on, but cured it with a hypo salinity period and now buy pre-quarantined fish. No further disease problems. Have battled some cyano and dinos, but happy with the tanks these days. Recently having a Spirorbid outbreak, but that's ok. Coralline coming in verrry slowly.
