So my test SPS frags have taken off into 5"+ pieces, therefore I am going to jump to the SPS dominant stage of my 40g Breeder tank.

My question is related to my lighting setup. I have (2) XR15's, when using my par meter (SQ-420) I'm getting about 240par midway down the tank and this is with the light schedule AB+ template overall intensity set to 100%.

I know my par meter isn't technically the full spectrum meter but I would still imagine the par has got to be somewhat close (my own assumption).

TLDR
Is (2) XR15s over a 40g breeder enough lighting for my tank? If not, do I add something like the reefbrite hybrid fixture? Or perhaps another XR15 or maybe even an XR30?

That is definitely enough light. SPS can tolerate a wide variety of light conditions. I typically recommend 200-300 (par) for sps.

So long as you're getting the depth penetration you desire, you should be fine with 2 XR15. If you wanted more, you'd have to either add an XR15 or upgrade both, as going to 1 XR30 would reduce spread significantly.

You should be okay I would definitely not worry as much because SPS are flexible with their lighting. But I would recommend getting a par reader for future
expensive coral.

I experienced same issue in my 40 gallon frag tank. I opted to get 2 get 2 xr30's which is overkill but put diffusers on it for more even spread and I can also use these lights t s if I go bigger later on.

I wanted to grow sps on bottom of frag tank which was below 200par. I'm actually dialed back at the moment with sps on top and LPS at bottom. Have apogee 520 light meter btw.
