alright so I have a 14g cube that i would like to tear down and place in a 45g setup. Well not to place the 14g in the 45g but rather the inhabitants haha.

Buuuuutttt, I don’t really want to do the whole sump setup, and would prefer the HOB method to cut down on cost and my stand customization because the only sump I’ve got laying around is a 100(ish) gallon sump I need to replace baffles for. And that was originally going to my 150g shallow frag tank aka “lowboy” but I’d rather get rid of the acrylic.

Soooooo I was thinking maybe you all have suggestions for HOB options as far as refugiums and other filtration options go?

Aquaclear filters are your best bet. You can have one for mechanical/chemical filtration and mod the another on to a HOB fuge

Agreed. My main filtration would consist of these items. Based on perfecting flow and bio load consumption.
