I vote culerpa in sump. Will suck up nutrients so other algae cant.
I love chaeto. Apparently someone believes it sucks up copper. I would have to find the thread. But, we know plants absorb many elements and minerals. Sadly, I think something in my sump eats the caulerpa. So, I gotta get more red algae as well when I get more of the caulepa.

I got a long list... gorgs, macro algaes. pectinias, trachyphyillias...

Do you have an urchin?
Yep!
I also run Caulerpa in sump, its on 2 hours.

I think its just hair algae , green.

So I need to be vigilant in attacking the ugly algae in tank.... I've kinda left it natural and tried that technique, but after a month and observation it seems im just dumping in phos to maintain and the algae is growing. almost out pacing the dosing and dinos will eventually come back.

Ill see what reefcleaners has in store. Ceriths, Astreas, etc!

Why only 2 hours?
That was the course of action prescribed by the others. because phos was bottoming with dinos on the front. I was basically growing 2 algaes, bottoming phos and dinos were taking over.

it seems i just need to husbandry against the ugly algae in the reef and it should balance out better. The barebottom is kinda like an Algae scrubber, I can razor it off in clean sheets and harvest.

Bare bottom = more rock for the bacteria
