I assume your flow rate through your UV is matched to the flow rate necessary for parasite control. To fast and the dwell time is not sufficient to kill the parasites ability to propagate. I believe this is how the UV works with some water born parasites. It has been a few years...like twenty plus since I did this stuff.
I can go back and double check....

Guh (me making old man noises)

Edit

I am running a siccee 0.5

Putting me at ~200gph
55 watt jebao

Perhaps I should run a higher GPH pump?

Dwell time is extra long for ich from my reading but perhaps I'm wrong?

And I'm set up running it somewhat twice.

Achilles is presenting further stress signs . Swimming in powerhead and general stress swimming. Rest are fine.

Ok I'm going to order , heater , copper safe medication, hannah tester.

I'm going to set up and air stone , on some egg crate. Was considering skimmer set up per @Stang67 but upon further reading it says not to use a skimmer. @Jay Hemdal can you confirm? Reading your qt protocol.

Use a small power head for water movement.

I'm going to fill the 150 stock tank up to 3/4 full. ( We already have this)

Tomorrow I'm going to make a pvc structure.

And I'll need to seed this tank with media from current tank to quickly jumpstart it i imagine. So I'll be water changing the main tank and putting water from there into this tank for now ....

Stuff to complete set up will be here in 3 days

Planning to go to 2.25 copper
and Hyposalinity slowly...

Since im transferring tank water to new bin to maintain some bio filtration and Ill pull some disposable after qt media to kickstart. Thats when I'll nabb the fish.

Going to be almost impossible unless its all the way down... with those small fish and the tank grown in. Might have to take rock out temporarily with coral attached.

I've made a make shift pvc structure

My neighbor is going to help, Brittany and a running friend who also enjoys reefing. I have all the hands. Thanks for the ideas and counciloring.

I'm stressed myself seeing the Achilles stressed like it is. Now I'm hoping he is okay till then.

Step one, fill tub up with half new water
Step two, drain tank to fill rest.
Step three, remove all coral and place in bin
Step four, get fish out
Step five, put coral back
Step six, put new PVC structure in place
Step seven, begin treatment, testing put all equipment online

This should get enough good stuff in the bin to start it.

I wouldn't use a skimmer in the QT. It won't affect the copper treatment, but it isn't going to be of much benefit and if you use praziquantel at any point, you'd have to stop the skimmer.

I would use good aeration. I am NOT a fan of using tubs for a QT. The lack of lateral viewing is a real problem for seeing how the fish are actually doing. It's like flying in a blinding rainstorm....

So maybe the skimmer wouldn't be bad? Was looking to use it to aerate the water mostly

I don't have a pilots license :p

I have a pool noodle I'm considering cutting up to start seeding with bio from display. Polyethylene seems ok for reefs .

Trying to jump start the qt. I will transfer 50% tank water and some media. I already have I can sacrifice.

Any thoughts on a yes or a no appreciated ( feel free to comment on the length if needed)

Copper kit is here

Achilles has 2 small lesions (not correct word) developed on side. Might be scrapes from flashing I think.

Achilles looks to be the last one fighting. So far I've done nothing but add 5 micron socks, feed heavy, and added an extra catalyst to my oxydator.

Looks like mostly mucus plugs now on him.

I think I'm putting the qt gloves down.

Tested water

26N
0.6P
490 calcium
9 Alk

Deploy a bit of gfo.... I've been feeding heavy.

Feed some chalerupa

Cleaning fish room tonight. It's so disorganized...
