Hmmm... Math isn't mathing... Phosphorus is 0.0791 ppm and Phosphates is 0.22 ppm. I guess phosphates are significantly larger than phosphorus by itself?

Sorry, less rules, less structure, more confusion.

Correct
That's why neither of us can wrap our heads around it. I think last time I had this done people said don't worry. But why is it tracked. Why is it high

It's "high" because they want your phosphates below 0.05. You don't want your phosphates below 0.05.

Gathered that. Haha phosphorus though. How is it bad.

Phosphate causes algae, said to stunt coral growth yada yada. But we have debunked some of that.

Wondering what phosphorus being high means. Do we have means to get rid of it in our tanks etc

Phosphorus dunno if that matters. Need to understand that .

Calcium was a big oof. Test regimen is off. Clearly thought I was at 500
Which test kit were you using? I am going to assume hana..

Just asking as I don't want to run into similar situation.

Hannah yep, probably going to secure a secondary test kit and also work on my testing regimen.

Weird.... started my calcium upping and corals are responding really well already.

Like I just texted you, im doing the real work. Scientists are working towards heat adapting corals. Im addressing a much more serious issue. How to keep coral alive in a shortage of calcium.

Testing today Hannah read 550 on a new bucket of Instant ocean should be 400... eek Calcium

tank tested 525 so i estimate tank at 375. I just did a water change and dosed more calcium

Do i know what im doing.... no but neither does anyone else

I know what I am doing, I just choose to not do it the way I know I should. I'm lazy... Or maybe I don't care enough? Hmmm I should work on that. Maybe tomorrow.

Little tank update! It's been awhile.

Feb/March dealt with some reefing neglect and started losing things. Sent in ICP that uncovered low calcium 275. As well as the other issues. Including a nice 5 alk stint....

As of now, things are on the mend. Colonies have stopped peeling. Which leave room for new life.

I purchased a 4th yellow coris, larger this time. So hopefully no jumps with the net on. (He's already jumped with the lid off....)

I also got a linkia
PXL_20250528_153445134.jpg

And a few corals.... That were peeling due to my low alk.

The good stuff
Last week.... Did a group battle box from @Battlecorals . Splitting the loot with some local friends.

So this is where it sits!

I stopped phyto
I changed filters
I got back to basics

On the agenda, replace pH probe on kh guardian. Replace di resin

Small Fuge got some new algae. Still dealing with cyano problems that seem to be clearing now that I stopped carbon dosing.
