I’m having trouble saving anything on my A8. It’s even turning off when I just switch my WiFi connection back to my router from the Ailight setting to link it. Any new solutions for it? It’s been out for a while I’m hoping this is common issue to solve now

Mine connected right up with zero issues and has been rock solid.
You are using 2.4ghz correct also not a smart switching router that will pick between the 2?

Also I think this made it work better for me. For my Hydros system I have a cheap $20 router that is dedicated ONLY to my Hydros and I put my A8 on it as well so there isnt all kinds of traffic and everything has been rock solid for Hydros and A8

idk if it’s 2.4ghs, where do I find out or switch it to 2.4ghz
you would have to look in the settings on your router in the wireless settings.
You should have 2 SSID's if you have both ch active separately to choose. If you only have one network wifi name it sounds like it is setup for smart switching so it will only need one name.

I’ll try again in a lil bit, I have to take a break it’s so frustrating
Yea sounds like thats probably the issue. Especially if its setup for auto switching. That can cause alot of issues with alot of different wifi devices. I think once you get it split or buy a super cheap router and just setup a dedicated network like I did and it has been as easy as setting up on MyAI

this is the cheap one I have

Make sure there are no special characters in your wifi password, letters and numbers only.

Yeah letters and numbers only, I appreciate the help everyone. The color, spectrum and power on the light is great but this is the worst app I’ve ever dealt with.

you dont want auto.
You want to have it so you have a 2.4ghz and 5ghz SSID that are independent and only you get to choose which one. If that auto switching is on that will cause all kind of issues.

Yeah I meant I turned it off, I made it so it was only 2.4, u suggest I put it back how it was I’m guessing but idk if I’m capable making it 2.4ghz and 5ghz SSID that are independent and only you get to choose which one like u say but I’ll google it and give it a shot

If you turned off auto switching you should se a 2.4ghz and a 5ghz network on your system.
Do you have alot of devices connected to it?
If you do I wonder if it has the same issues Hydros has if you use your main router with everything connected to it, it drops wifi alot and fails to connect but once I added its own network everything is 100% rock solid and my light is rock solid as well.
If you have alot of devices on the network i would suggest getting that $20 router and make its own network for the light and I will bet it connects perfectly

Hopefully I have some previously used routers, is that an option? Also I assume that I need to split the connection before my main to try it or could its Ethernet cord just be plugged into an Ethernet port on the main router? Thanks for the help

as long as your current router has some ethernet ports on the back you can use them to plug the new router into and then you will just setup the new router as a new network.

Hi Everyone,

I created a little PDF guide to get the A8 Lights connected and working. It is not a full guide but I hope it helps
