How do you do do water changes once coral grow up near the top? Sump?

I'm using 135 ml per day of alk and ca which keeps me at 7.5 to 7.8

No they are exposed to air but stay wet. No worries though corals don't seem to mind my water change is only a few moments

Hey so this isn’t from personal experience but I’ve watched videos of Gallery Aquatica TV they’re Coral farmers, LFS and tank maintenance in Australia and he’s a marine biologist so they’re not you average joes. They service huge tanks and do 90% water changes so most corals end up out of water and fish swimming in like 5-7” of water. They recommend to just do it as quick as you can and everyone should be ok.

There are reefs around the world where SPS corals are out of the water for hours at a time (and in full sunlight) during low tides.
When I do a water change, almost all of my SPS colonies are completely out of the water for up to 30 minutes or so. It doesn't bother them at all. The polyps retract quickly, and after a short while they secrete mucous as protection. Following the water change that mucous is sloughed off -- this can make your protein skimmer go a little nuts for a while, but I've never seen any other effects.
