As soon as my quarantine tank is cycled I’m planning on beginning to re stock my 90 gallon aquarium,
This is my list I’d like to end up with, I’m not sure if this is the order I should start them in
Recently I was told to add clowns later because they’re territorial? when should they be added ?
I plan to start with the Royal gramma
Royal gramma

Pair of clowns

Watchman goby/pistol shrimp

Tailspot / Midas blenny

Foxface (I’ll be upgrading within a year to a 220 gallon)

Coral beauty

Yellow Coris

Melanurus wrasse (maybe ? Do they eat peppermint shr

McCosters flasher wrasse

Mandarin goby

i cant think

Here’s how I’d do it;
- Watchman/Pistol Pair
- Tailspot blenny
- Foxface
- Coral Beauty
- Yellow “coris” wrasse (H. Chrysus)
- McCoskers Flasher wrasse
- Melanurus wrasse
- Mandarin Dragonet
- Clownfish AND Royal Gramma
- Melanurus wrasse
I say this way because it’s the most peaceful/easy first then slowly adding in more aggressive or harder fish later. melanurus don’t always go after CUC, it’s mainly snails/hermits when they do (and smaller ornamental shrimp). Also, if the tank is 4’x2’x2’ you have a 5’ diagonal, to me that’s plenty of room for a smaller foxface (Magnificus or vulpinus) these fish won’t get as big as they do in the wild, most will max out at 6-7” instead of 9-10”. They also don’t swim like tangs do, they just hover over different spots every so often and keep peace in the tank.

I second this, as you nailed this with the list in this order.
