I ment the original hydra before there was 26 or 52. In your case I would do two hydra 26 either hd or original depending how you want to control them.

I am running the HD 26's and I am very happy with them. They are very bright and one has to be careful not to have them to high or the coral, fish will get cooked.

Hey everyone I'm upgrading to a 6 foot tank. I already have a hydra 26hd do u guys think I could get away with two 52 hds and one 26? It would be and sps LPS softie tank. I would have two cliffs on each side with the middle open. So the order would be 52-26-52. U think that would be enough?

Hello AI users ..... I am in the process of upgrading to a 130g system ..... 4 ' x 30 deep x 22H

I have Been researching for a while now, I posted in the general led forum and now here in the AI section I was considering 2 52's , or 4 26 HD's with plans to go to sps in the future.... And I want to limit shadowing so that's why I want to go with 4 26 HD .... Any thoughts ??

How are you going to mount the 26's? I live with a Met Fan, and she is not happy right now:D

Last night I changed the settings again. Mainly going by looks to be honest.. I have the acclimation setting on as well since the light is new.

I downloaded the settings and the system is doing well, if you would like them let me know and I will link the settings so that you can up load them. I also use the lunar mode and it give the tank a real cool look at night. I set the light a %1 for lunar mode

Suppose Ill add. I went from 3 400W MH which was a tough trasnsition. Lost a few large really nice sps coral. With that said, things have gotten better. Really like my setup now.

(3) hydra 52hd mounted 8" high over my 220 mostly sps tank.

I went through the first 9 pages of posting. I think most everybody is running their CW higher than me and UV less. (I am a beginner and don't know a lot about color or issues they may cause or benefits they could have). Is there any harm in running the CW low and UV high?

Keep in mind acclimate mode is on so everything is equally lower. Im probably at 50 par on my only coral or around there. Going to walk it up to 150 until I add new stuff and maybe turn it up more if I can.

It all depends on your tank and what types of corals you want to keep in your tank. For me I have a 75G with 98% SPS corals. From what I have been told/read is that UV darkens up acros and Blues/whites help grow the SPS, but of course you want a full spectrum also. Below is what my tanks looked like on 8/10/16, I have since changed the aquascape and I will be taking a new picture today when I get home from work.

Okay, that's helpful to know it can darken them. I assume that's something that you wouldn't want.

So far tank has one coral and just a 10G but I'm going to buy one or two this weekend since I have the lighting. Basically any coral that work well under simi-intense lighting possibly 150 par at the sand bed. I want to have a blue tip sebae anemone for sure. Once I outgrow this tank I'm going to buy a 40gallon breed and a second hydra 26HD (each light for a 18x18" area).
