What's the best way to remove algae that seems to be on tips of a milli frag? The milli is still healthy, but I'm afraid that algae may spread. The milli is getting plenty of flow, but looking for a solution just short of scrubbing it (just kidding). The algae isn't growing anywhere on other frags or the frag rack, so it must have gotten there while the tang or I was cleaning and is trying to anchor down (my guess). Thanks

if its free floating algae that just got caught up in the milli, just remove by hand. If the tissue under the algae is dead or if the algae is actually growing on the skeleton of the milli, clip the dead part

So snip it. Thanks guys. I've tried placing the tips in high flow for a few seconds, but it's still there.

Also need to figure out what is causing the dead tips. Algae should not grow on a healthy sps. Any idea what it could be?

I'm going to get pics tonight, then possibly clip the tips. I am wondering if a quick dip in peroxide would help or hurt. << any thoughts????>>

I'd skip the peroxide.

Are you dosing anything at all to the tank? What's your alkalinity? Dead tips can be a sign of high alk.
