Im sure this has been asked all to heck but I have a 40 breeder that is consuming only about .1 dkh a day. At what point could I start dosing all for reef daily? I have about a 10 small sps frags and I’m starting to see signs of growth and coralline. My overall system volume is probably about 45 gallons but obviously my demand isn’t that high.

You could start dosing now if you want. .1dkh isnt much, but it is a dosable amount. As your frags start to get bigger and bigger though you will need to dose more and more. Start at like 3 or 4 ml/day and see where you get from there, just remember it takes a day or so at first for it to start to metabolise into alk, so do it a week before deciding to adjust and go from there.

Each ~25ml (maybe 28 ml) will add about 1 dKH to your tank.

It can be, ya. With .1 per day consumption though 4 days will be fine.

At 40 gallons roughly?

i suppose at 3 or 4 ml to start can’t hurt. I will just test daily and readjust. I have a dozen corals coming from WWC next week so hopefully i will be successful and see the demand go up

Yes, that is the best way to get stability with dosing, is frequent testing. I would not recommend adjusting daily though. Keep a dose for a week, then adjust up or down and dose that for a week. It will take some time for you to get a good trend. This will also be helpful experience to have for when your new frags come in and get settled. You will see consumption start to go up after a few weeks, and you will have to adjust up fairly regularly. In the 5 months since adding a dozen sticks in my 75, i have gone from dosing 28ml/day to 43ml/day, and it is still increasing.
