I am new to reefing and building my first tank. I chose a 30 gallon that wasn't being used. I have been cycling this tank for 6 weeks. An area of the tank where I have some live rock purchased from a local salt shop has developed long LHA. I was advised by a couple of members to clean this up. My CUC has been delayed due to the holidays and Covid. I seeded the tank with apocalypes pods and Ecopods from algae barn. Using B-Ionic Buffer system 1 and 2, added Coraline Algae from the bottle. Have two power heads. Running two filters at the moment. The aqua maxx with a protein skimmer and a small refugium, The other is a HOB. An Obit led system for lighting. If I am missing anything please let me know.

You seem on track!
Any thoughts on your first fish?
Maybe an algae eating blenny of some sort?

I had to promised "She who must be Obeyed" That she could pick out the fish. While I do all the janitorial stuff. I am sending suggestions to her in-box

Reduce white light intensity and pull as much as you can by hand,. I understand the CUC delay. You could use liquid vibrant dosed at 80% of recommended to start diminishing it.
By any chance , is your tank at or near a window ?
Also are you using RODI water or tap water from the faucet?
