Another Red Sea Failure...Viewer Discretion Advised

Sadly what’s crazy guys is this. I had a Max S500. I need to look for these videos. It would actually leak from the upper black band at the top. The rear jets that recirculated water (aka Aiptasia Garden) when those would cause the water to splash on the euro brace, the water would wick up through the interior band and put the other side. It was coo-coo cray cray.

The main problem with that tank is {XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX} <--- Ooops! Somehow the rest of my comment just got "disappeared"! 😜

Can't see the video because I don't do IG but I'm familiar with RS failures and amazed that people still buy their tanks.

My first failure was Reefer 170 Gen 1.

I'm currently watching my Gen 2 reefer 300 full of SPS failing as I type.

I don't know why I'm worried tho because redsea says its perfectly fine so they will not do anything even tho the tank is under warranty.

Our team has thoroughly reviewed all the photos and information you provided. We can confirm that the seam protectors of your aquarium are functioning properly, and we believe your aquarium is not at risk of failure.
You should definitely get back I. Touch with them. The armor guards only measure 1/4”. That’s way more than that. I’d demand for a supervisor. You can also bluff that you have 10k followers on a social media account (say you won’t specify the name). The social media game is how they keep customers and they would definitely make them budge.

Nah that looks like it's just in the armored seams to me.

I don’t know how true this is but apparently the prices of their products are a third in China of what they are here in the UK, not sure about Europe or the US etc.
To my mind they don’t make any good products. The original salt they sold was rubbish, as were the skimmers etc. The marketing has improved but the goods don’t seem to have. It’s high time the “reefing influencers” stopped taking the bribes of free tanks. I can’t believe the trade sells the products out of anything other than it’s what the buyers want, tanks bursting, pumps failing on etc it’s aggro the sellers surely don’t want!

I'm not into social media at all outside of R2R and I'm not one to make threats I can't back up. I sent images with a ruler attached to the tank and its not quite 1/4" yet. I have no doubt it will be because once this starts it just gets progressively worse. While the guards may help protect from scraper damage they will do nothing to slow down the algae that is destroying the silicone. I figure RS is banking on the warranty expiring before the tank leaks. I have no intentions of setting up another RS tank even if they were to give me one. If the damage exceeds the 1/4" by the time I take the tank down I'll submit the images and see how they respond. If get a new tank I'll offer it for sale. If not I'll just add it to the scrap pile and move on. I just don't have the energy to waste fighting with them. If i could walk into the office and have a one on one conversation I would do it but fighting with a company on the other side of the world via email or even phone I just find frustrating and mentally exhausting.

My brother's tank just blew a seam...complete failure overnight at his business.

My fellow Red Sea owners, check your seams daily. Buy some straps or some c-clamps, be prepared...if that can even be a thing. This has been a devastating experience.

Here is the live video feed, not the greatest quality, but sufficient to cause nightmares.

I'm not sure how they are still in the tank business or why people continue to buy Red Sea tanks.

I know you have one and I hope yours holds up for many, many years brother.

"not at risk". Ask them if you can drop it off in their office, fill it up and see if they are ok with that.

David, if you need help doing a tank transfer. Let me know!

I'm not a member of Instagram either, so is there a way to put the video on youtube or Facebook ?

Will see if this works...for those that don't have IG and want to see video.

Omg... What a nightmare, this is my biggest fear. I have forgotten my RODI water before and that was enough to gave me a mini mental breakdown. I can't imaging saltwater with bacteria flooding the whole floor, so sorry.

Its just wild that there isnt much accountability from red sea unless its too late. They do just enough to stay out of a law suit it appears.

What I meant was my thread was closed and moved to the vendor feedback forum. So I apologize you are correct it didn't actually disappear but was moved to a place where most people would never see it.
Lol..yeah. Hardly anyone is looking in there. Its like when Neo ended up in the train station in the Matrix movie. Technically, its on the site.....but unless you know where to look it might as well not be. Being that no outside comments can be made, its never brought to the latest posts/comments page that most of us look at.

I wonder if Red Sea Headquarters still have any G1’s still up and running. Would be funny to hear if the reason they upgraded the tanks was because their own G1’s exploded at their office lol

New management changes mean 2nd owner....so no warranty.
