Oh it had lids. They were the clear acrylic ones that came with the clear for life tank. Every part of that tank was sealed up top. I’ve lost a few clownfish that way and cringe every time I see a rimless tank with clownfish or no lid for that matter.one of my cat kill some of my fish on the open top tank. It just flip the fish out and hide it in the corner
I am kinda mad of him and i am not letting him go to the room with my tank
Ours also as the floor is coolCool spot and potential scraps! What's not to like!!!
I take it you don't own a catI apologize in advance and do not want to hijack this feel good thread, but I would ask all cat owners(especially those that let them outside) educate themselves on the destruction outdoor cats do to wildlife. The numbers are staggering.
Cats in the U.S. alone are responsible for between 10-30 Billion(with a B) deaths of wildlife each year. Cats are responsible for over 30 extinctions worldwide. They kill 10x more than a comparable natural predator and have a very small range (about 100 meters from home) which puts a lot of stress on local environments. This is just scratching(no pun intended) the surface.
Spay or neutering does not curb their predation habits. With all of the talk of conserving the ocean and reefs, I feel most are unaware(hopefully not caring) of how bad it is having cats roaming outside is to the environment and conservation of wildlife on land. Many studies have been done, a simple search of "cats killing wildlife" will bring many up. This was something that was brought to my attention about a year ago, and since then I try to do my part by trying to get others educated on the subject. I feel it's sort of taboo to talk about because many find them so cute and cuddly, and nobody wants to think about what they're doing when you can't see them outside. Many argue "not my cat", but the numbers don't lie.
All I ask is to read up on the subject and make your choices from there. And now I will respectively leave all of you to it, enjoying each other's pets. Thank you for your time reading my post. Please don't let this hijack this thread. That's not my intent.
