I've dipped rocks and coral before but have never added it to the tank. I have a bad algae outbreak in my tank now and have been thinking about giving it a try. Has anyone seen any bad reactions using it with their fish or coral?

I was dosing a while back but never had any negative reaction with 3% h2o2. Like someone mentioned zoas and kenya tree close up when dosed but open back up in a short period. I never stuck to it as I mostly used h2o2 as a dip for my zoas when I had a lot of diatoms covering my live rock and frag plugs, very effective cleaning powerheads as well.I've dipped rocks and coral before but have never added it to the tank. H2O2, yes and I use the 3%
No as peroxide is mainly waterHey vetteguy...any bad effects using 3ml of H2O2 on ZOAS/PALYS?
seems like zoas/palys use algae to generate zooxanthellae in their tissue
So wondering if H2O2 discolors them, stunts growth... closes up polyps? Are they P'ed off?
Increased overall health of corals ./ fish superb water quality.Could you describe the benefits you have seen?
Ok this is like Chinese Calculus reading this statement.sea water contains 0.5 to 14 μg/L of hydrogen peroxide
I have 150 gallons total and dose 40 ml daily 20 at 10 am and 20 at 10pmOk this is like Chinese Calculus reading this statement.
So are you saying if you use "whatever" salt mix...like IO, IO RC, Coral Sea Pro, Fritz.... whatever.... dosing H2O2 is a must(?)
To maintain this "0.5 to 14 μg/L" reading... I need a PracticalMan's guide to dosing daily per 100 gals
.
Ok my Inner-Reef brain is telling me corals build zooxanthellae... which is Algae based.I have 150 gallons total and dose 40 ml daily 20 at 10 am and 20 at 10pm
Could it be a problem to dose peroxide if you use phoshate rx
I was interested since i have a tiny but of gha growing on my sandbed but that is the food for my blenny so if it gets out of hand ill try it.I don't see how it would have a reaction with any lanthanum chloride product. To be honest, I don't see how dosing hydrogen peroxide long term would be terribly beneficial. I am going to give it a try and take detailed notes.
That sounds like a lot, Jon! How many gallons?I dump 6-10 ounces in once a month or so, to clean up cyno on hard to reach rocks.
