Threaded rod or dowels?

Thank you.

Thread rod, capped with makore plugs.

make fun of me.

Until they figure it out, then it where can I buy one of these;)

built in the 60's, had cypress walls that still looked brand new when the pool was replaced about five years ago.

The odd thing about cypress, like yellow pine. The older the wood and harder the cypress and yellow pine get.

Paul have you ever seen the sump cypress? That stuff in beautiful.

I am not surprised the the cypress held up, what I am surprised is the held up with the chlorine.

Stay tuned, I am gluing exterior doors this week.

Replaced this mess. Still need to get the doors and hardware on the cabinet. Excuse the mess it’s still a work in progress.

Very nice!!! I have been eyeing up a nice end grain board for a while now.

Funny you mention it.... was doing some planing on smaller walnut boards this afternoon.

(Stanley 191 Sweetheart pictured, a restoration of mine)

My favorite end-grain project recently was a custom order, a walnut and Purple Heart serving tray. Serving tray entails thinner (lighter) than I would normally make a cutting board

Oh man, I have been looking EVERYWHERE for more hand planes to restore. Specifically a leveling plane.

That 191 was my first restoration project after watching dozens of hours on youtube. I am a college student, woodworking just a side hobby. The 191 was nastily rusted & pitted, free at a garage sale. Electrolysis rust removal to get off the bulk and then evapo-rust. After that, etching primer and paint.

I used a friend's Bridgeport after that to fly cut the bottom and rabbet side. Its dang flat to a few tenths LOL. Used a surface grinder to set the bevel... it cuts end grain like butter.

Unfortunately
, the plane was missing the main locking screw, the spur and the spur thumbscrew. So I remade these in brass, but it is not original.

Keep an eye out for a leveling or low angle jack plane for me! Haha
