Apex sensor ATK

So i have the atk and the pmup hasn't been going off every time it needs to and i've noticed on the dashboard of the app and the website it says that my sensor is "OPEN" which means there is no water at the level, thus meaning the atk should turn on and add more water to where it would read "CLOSED" which means it's back to normal level now. But then there are times where I refresh the page and it's "CLOSED"

My question is basically is the sensor going bad now or is the app/website just finicky and cant make up its mind on if it's open or closed?

My guess would be the sensor. Maybe take it out and test it in a controlled circumstance to know for sure.
