I'm thinking of using this for a lid on my 75g tank, I was wondering if had any negative effect on light passing through/PAR.

It does, depends a lot on what kind of light how close it is etc but it will effect it. Making a proper screen one isnt much more expensive and will save u the headache imo

264 par 10 inches blow surface no defuser 210 with defuser. 6 bulb t5 90 gallon 4 ft. I stand corrected

My big thing is just working around the tank mounts and the HOB overflow.

I'm going to be running 2 XR30s.

I will tell you that I have a par meter and wasn't concerned as all of the coral are happy. I never tested with and without before. My coral are getting what they need

I like the fact they are cheap, easy to cut to fit around anything

I may end up going with a plain mesh lid, I've got a few dartfish and some of the other fish I plan on adding are jumpers as well.

I lost a yellow wrasse and a snow flake eel through mine, so yes your plan is a good idea

if you go the diy screen lid route there are special brackets you can get to make the screen come in around the mounts, if money isnt a concern tho id highly recommend clearview lids and they can custom make anything u want.
