Does anyone have experience with monitors other than Neptune’s Apex? I just transitioned into a Neptunian cube m120 from two smaller tanks and really want to get a monitor for it but I cannot afford to shell out Apex prices.
I was looking into seneye, I saw an older video on brs about it and it looks like something that’d would fit the bill for me. Does anyone have experience with it? Or any other more cost friendly monitors?

I have always had a Neptune Apex, but, I agree, they are a lot of money to get started. Another controller is Coralvue Hydros. It allows you to buy smaller units, one at a time, and grow your system. I’m not sure if they are much different in price, though. I would say that the Apex and Hydros controllers seem to be the most popular.

Get a used apex. You dont need the new one to do the main important monitoring pieces. You can pick up the OG head + temp probe for around $50-75 and then the eb8 for $50-100. Ph probe off amazon $30 and your good yo go.

What pH probe is compatible? I clicked the Amazon link, but it just pulled up the website, not the probe.

Did you ever end up getting a controller?

Hydros used to have a monitor only package but it has been discontinued. It was an X3 controller with a power supply, A pH probe and a temp sensor. You can still get the X3 as controller only but you would have to get a power supply and temp sensor. If you do not have a pH probe you would need one of those also. The X3 is available with a XP8 in the pro pack. The XP8 has 8 controlled AC outlets. The kit has the two controllers, two terminators and a bus cable so you can create a collective. It also has a temp sensor and pH probe. To add another controller you would just need the controller and a command bus cable. If the controller has a separate power port it would need a power supply unless it comes with it in the package. Here is a link to the X3 Pro Pack https://www.coralvue.com/hydros-control-x3-pro-pack .
