TL;DR: How do I know if my Delta Zura Faucet is safe to use to deliver RODI for my mixed reef tank?

I'm completely worn out with moving and lugging buckets to fill my ATO. Right now, my RODI fills a 5 gallon bucket under a sink with a float valve installed. Not fail proof by a long shot. I then pull it out, shut off the valves, unplug the RODI hose, then carry that full 5 gallon bucket about 60 feet to my tank, pour it into a 2-gallon bucket with a pour spout, and pour that into my ATO reservoir 2X.

I just bought a 9-gallon RO holding tank (pressurized). My goal is to put it under the sink to replace the 5-gallon bucket contraption. I want to then connect it to a faucet which I will use to fill the 2-gallon bucket and just carry it twice. This would avoid risk associated with the 5-gallon bucket leaking and I will no longer have to get under the sink to move the full bucket and disconnect hoses each time, only to immediately reconnect it all.

My question is: how do I know if my Delta Zura Faucet: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/774-CS-DST.html is safe for my mixed reef tank? I asked Delta if there were any copper components that touch the water and received no response.

Most of us have water delivered via copper pipes and copper fittings. There is almost certainly both copper and zinc in the faucet’s water path, but not something to worry about. We can go into detail, about why this is not an issue, with or without RO/DI but I don’t see the point.

Are you on a raised foundation? If so, I would run John Guest tubing from your holding tank to the ATO reservoir under the house.

Says the guys in sunny California, but maybe not such a good idea for the OP in Arkansas, which does see freezing temps :-)

Are you talking about adding an RO drinking water faucet to your water storage tank, and using that to fill your 2 gallon container with RODI water? If so, there may be some concern for any metal in THAT faucet that would come in contact with the RODI water, as opposed to your kitchen faucet. I searched, and there are PVC faucets, but they seem VERY expensive.

Unfortunately, we are slab and it I would have to go into a freeze prone attic or tear out walls to get there. I did that at my old house, but this one is somehow built without water behind any wall in a public space.

Yeah, it's that Delta Zura faucet. It's already installed in a granite countertop with a small undermount sink. It's a coffee bar between our master bedroom and bathroom. The Delta Zura faucet is already there. I'm not interested in drilling another hole in the granite, so hoping to shut off the hot water and steal the cold line for the RODI. Theoretically, it's just adapters that I have already bought to make it work.

I don't know, I'd have some concern running RODI (which is a power solvent) through that faucet, but I don't know for sure it would be a problem.

I am sorry, I misunderstood you original post. I misread and though that the faucet would feed the RO unit.

As mentioned above, I would not plumb the RO output through a metal faucet. The proper faucet would be a plastic lined “pure water” or lab faucet. As mentioned above, expensive.

@jsbull

I thought you can't use RODI in those pressurized bladder tanks?

Only RO?

I don't think they are made for ultra pure water

The issue with the bladder tank is in how it is used. If he is using a few gallons at a time, then it will be fine. Otherwise, in a momentary use setup, the constant small fills result in TDS creep.
