ATI Results question

So I just got my ATI results as my tank over the past months has been having issues like lots of algae, bad coral growth (Due to doser malfunction *recent), and mainly just random issues like always testing high for phosphates which seems to be true.

In terms of the results of the tank, it returned mainly high phosphates (0.34 mg/l) and phosphorus(110.5 µg/l) Nitrates (0 mg/l) and high silicon (2279 µg/l) and high calcium of 660 (which is due to my doser sadly)

I get my RO water from my local fish store and it seems that the RO water has some elements in it that ATI doesn't like to see are these things that normally show up in RO or should they be gone as I thought RO/DI when done "correctly" meant that there were 0 particles/TDS in it.

Your LFS is overdue for a filter change. You should get your water from somewhere else (preferably your own filter).

Yeah, stop using the LFS water immediately. They clearly aren't watching their filters and your tank is paying the price.

BRS has some of their RO units on sale. Well worth it to make your own water.

I'm not sure the water is a big problem, but I agree that it may not be 0 ppt TDS water and making your own is always a good plan.

Did they measure other ions like sodium, chloride, calcium, et/?

That will help you know if it was 0 ppm TDS.

I'd be more worried about the 12,000 silica, 65 phosphorus, and .20 phosphates. It's clear filters aren't being replaced

I'd be more worried about the 12,000 silica, 65 phosphorus, and .20 phosphates. It's clear filters aren't being replaced

i was asking about the others to get an idea of what’s going on, not because I am worried about chloride.

Thst said, unless he has problematic diatoms, the Si and P values may not be troublesome.

Very strange set of readings. I think that can only come about (if accurate) when a DI is first depleting, and the incoming ions like sodium and chloride are displacing the silicate attached to the di that accumulated over time, but it depleted recently ennough that none of those ordinary tap water ions are making it through the di yet.

Winner for highest Si result I've seen on a test.

My first win I guess lol. But ya I am going to install my own RODI system and make it myself as I already make my own salt so why not.
